A Walk Around The Block
Mar. 10th, 2011 12:20 pmThe conference call ended, nothing else urgent beckoned and the sun was shining, so I went for a walk around the block.
It was a nice spring day, with temperatures in the high single digits and a gentle wind tugging at my clothes. The sun disappeared about halfway through and there was a sprinkling of rain near the end, but not enough to dampen my spirits. It's the first time since fall that I've been out without three layers of clothing on my upper body. Just an unzipped jacket overtop a t-shirt.
I used the Google Tracks app on my Android phone to track the journey. Total distance was 1.5 kilometers. Total change in elevation was 132 meters. That's roughly equivalent to walking the steps to the top of a 20 storey building and back down again. Is it any wonder I prefer to sit inside and watch videos?
At least now I have a video to watch. It was in the mail I picked up while I on my walk. "Black Snake Moan". Hmm. I like Christina Ricci but she doesn't have the best track record in picking scripts. We'll see how this one pans out.
